Let’s catch up - Week of June 28 (Tips to help your pet during fireworks & more)

Lets catch up 900 x 400.jpg

Here's a tiny smattering of what we chatted about this week. It isn’t everything but you can always contact me at the links at the end of the post.

On the home front, my husband and I were away for ten days. In that ten days, our kitten Tilly learned how to jump onto the kitchen sink. Now we need to learn how to make that neat trick stop while preserving her cuteness and our sanity. She is stealthy!

A woman in New York got an overflow of packages from Amazon. At one point her neighbor could even see her door! And she hadn't ordered even one of them. Weirder still, they were full of mask brackets. I had no idea what mask brackets were or did and had to look them up - they go between the mask and your face to help you speak and breathe better. She explained the mistake the best she could to Amazon, who told her to keep them. She owns a DIY and creative studio, so she and her business partner decided to make mask kits for the patients at the local children's hospital. How sweet is that? Amazon and other businesses donated additional materials. Don't you love when even a mistake works out for good?

Lots of pets take off on the Fourth of July; those fireworks are scary. I found some tips that might help you and your pet.
Here’s tips from News Center Maine and from the Humane Society.

Pizza lovers have a unique opportunity!
The Slice app is looking for representatives from each state to be part of the P.I.E Society to promote independents everywhere. Each representative will get free pizza for a year and a stipend to go out and try good local pizza places in your state! If you love pizza, love supporting local businesses, and love pizza (yes, I meant to share that twice), you shouldn't pass this up. Entries are until July 30th, with winners announced on August 13th.

Another pup took off during fireworks, but 18-month-old Raja not only found his way home, but he also rang the doorbell! They don't know how he learned this trick, but his family is sure glad he did. A little P. S. If your pup has a microchip, be sure that your address is up to date. Also, if a pet gets away, it is a good idea to leave some of your clothes out. They can be attracted to your scent.

Did you know?
Did you know that the first week of July is known as Beach Clean-Up week? There are a lot of ways we can give back and still have fun in the sun. I read that the 4th of July is one of the biggest beach weeks and the one with the most litter. I don't want to be a mom on you, but I am a mom. If you bring a bag with you, maybe you can help with a bit of extra pick up.

Everything I talked about isn’t here, but you can always email me just click this link to Kelly’s email. What's happening in your life? Do you have good news to share? Email me! Here's the link: Kelly's email.
