Mother & Child Reunion

We may celebrate when a mom chooses life, but the heart never forgets. Not even after 80 years.

Gerda was born in Austria, but moved to England in 1939 to escape the Jewish persecution that was happening under Hitler. When she was 18 years old, she chose life for her daughter – but because of the way WWII had ravaged her land, she gave the little girl up for adoption. There was only one condition: You can NEVER have any contact with the child. Ever.

I’m pretty sure the adoption authorities are gonna let that slide now, because recently Gerda met her daughter for the first time. It all happened when the grandson she had never met was searching one of those genealogy websites and found the connection between his mom, Sonya, & Gerda. The meeting was arranged - & it just “happened” to be on Gerda’s 98th birthday. See more of their incredible story HERE.
