Blessed Past. Joyous New Year!
As the year draws to an end and we look back on 2016, we are so overwhelmed with what God has done. We began the year in January with "Michigan's Biggest Baby Shower" We wanted to get out into our listening area and help the pregnancy centers get donations in honor of Sanctity of Life Month. We asked you to come into the centers and bring donations of cash or needed baby items for the centers. We received a great response, so this new year we have added to our list and will go to 8 different pregnancy centers instead of 4.We were at the Men's conference in March held at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church, this is an awesome event for men to come together and be built up in Jesus name and learn what the scriptures teach about being a man in today's society. In April we began our "Road to Decision Tour" each month from April to October we interviewed a State Representative from Northern Michigan, beginning with Rep. Lee Chatfield from the 107th District, we talked to the state reps about what was going on in their district, and how we could pray for them and our state during this very important election year. This was leading up to Franklin Graham coming to Lansing October 4th to pray on our capital steps. In May we had our spring "Day's of Promise" with a week long prayer and praise celebration of what God is doing in Northern Michigan. We are very thankful for you our supporters. In June we were slammed with The Big Ticket Festival, which we attended all four days, and we had an extremely successful event with our "Sofa Series" having the artist come into our tent and sing for our crowd and talk and interact with the people. It was alot of fun, and we had great turn out and response from everyone involved!! We are so thankful for our business partners who gave over and above their designated business giving to support our festivals. We want to thank Plath Meats, Art Van Furniture, Integrity Construction, Northern Utility Contractors, Webber Insurance, Topinabee Community Church, Mike Deerfield Foundation, Mega Power Sports, Jan's Deli & Catering, and Image Factory. We jumped right into July with our County Fair Tours across our listening area, and we held an openhouse here at our station to show off our remodel project of our radio station interior. Card Remodeling was our go to man for helping with this project, the Evangelical Free Church of Gaylord made a generous donation to us to help with the cost of new carpeting, and Art Van of Gaylord gave us new furniture for our lobby area. Volunteers, Brian and Kristy Sennett stripped wallpaper and painted our entire studio area inside. We were part of Gaylord's Alpenfest in July, sponsoring a queen's candidate and having a tent downtown broadcasting live each day during the festival and being in the parade with our station vehicle. It was very fun to be downtown Gaylord everyday and be a part of the community.August was busy with Unity Fest in Muskegon for 4 days, continuing our county fair tours, and being at the Gaylord Farmers Market every Wednesday throughout the summer. We interviewed State Rep. Peter Potvin from the 102nd District, as part of our continuing "Road to Decision" Series with Franklin Graham. Our fall "Day's of Promise" was in September. the Farmer's Market continued to the end of the month, We were at the Beth Moore Similcast in Charlovoix and we attended the Business Showcase at the Otsego County Sportsplex. One of our favorite things this year, is as a staff we began volunteering at the Food Truck held at The Evangelical Free Church. Each month on the second Thursday, they have a ministry of giving out food to needy families in Otsego County. Our entire staff is there serving and we will continue to do so each month. In October we went to Lansing for "Decision 2016" and 8000 people showed up in downtown Lansing, Mi. to gather on the Capital steps to pray for Michigan and the election. It was amazing to be there!! It was one of the largest groups to gather on capital steps in this tour, and Franklin Graham was very inspiring as he prayed and spoke to the crowd. Next we promoted and attended the WinSome Women Conference on Mackinaw Island. This conference has been going on for 20 years, and it was such a blessing to work with this group of ladies to encourage women and teach the Word of God. Fred did a "Color Tour" thru beautiful northern Michigan with his wife Julie, we were at "Harvestfest" at the Evangelical Free Church in Gaylord, and we finished a very busy month with Jay and Laura LaFoon in Cadillac and Mio.Veteran's Day, November 11th was a very special day as Fred did a live remote at the Gaylord Middle School, then attended the Honor's Luncheon for Veteran's under the Pavillion in Gaylord. Each Wednesday in November and December Fred was live at the "He-brews" Cafe at The LIFE Church in Gaylord with Pastor Steve Scheer and staff. We participated in "Giving Tuesday" this year, giving shoppers and listener's an opportunity to give to the Promise FM after Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping..And of course we capped off the year in December with our huge event, The Matt Maher Concert held in Gaylord and Cadillac. We had sold out events both nights, and it was an amazing success, all Glory to God!! We want to thank the staff of the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church and Resurrection Life Church in Cadillac for hosting these events and doing a fantastic job! We enjoyed our staff Christmas party at the Otsego Club in Gaylord with a fantastic prime rib dinner and get together. Otsego Club is a business partner and supporter of The Promise FM.We truly had an amazing year, and we cannot wait to see what happen's in 2017!! We are serving, and spreading the encouraging Word of God over the airwaves and in sponsoring events and concerts that bring people to Jesus Christ. If you are not part of The Promise FM family supporters, we encourage you to join us in our ministry and be blessed beyond what you could ever imagine.Thank You for 2016, we look back and we look forward with great joy!!!!
