Declutter Challenge - Day 17

Clutter Challenge (1).jpg

Because I am trying to clear up clutter, I was surprised at today's decluttering tip which is about setting up more spaces to gather that stuff that simply doesn't have a set space. We're kind of like creating junk drawers that go beyond the kitchen.

Day 17: SET UP A “JUNK ZONE” IN ONE OF YOUR ROOMS

Day 17 is all about creating a few designated junk drawer spaces. This makes sense because some things don’t have a particular spot. Things like pens, lip balm, scissors, and stuff may go beyond just a junk drawer in the kitchen. Be careful how big these containers get. When Scott and I purchased a desk for the front entry I bought two baskets to be our catch-alls. These are the perfect place for dropping things in when we walk in the door (like mail). Scott’s is pretty decent and not overstuffed. My basket, you can start a small colony with the stuff that has gathered. So today, start a junk drawer or basket but make sure to give it a good 20-minute clean-up every now and then too.
