Declutter Challenge - Day 12
Is your kitchen cluttered by food? Like countertops are the storage solution lately. Today’s Declutter Challenge might be a big help.
DAY 12 - DO A TIMED 20-MINUTE DECLUTTER OF YOUR FRIDGE, FREEZER AND PANTRY
I am not sure if 20 minutes is enough time for you; I certainly need a bit more, but do what you can. Grab that garbage bag and a box and pick your area. If it is the fridge, select one section at a time. Taryn recommends pulling it all out of an area, and then you can quickly clean that spot and answer a few questions about the items you pulled out so you can decide to put them back in or toss them.
Toss expired condiments and containers of food that your family is just not eating. Sometimes we try stuff, and it just doesn’t work, but we still let it sit there in our fridge. If your child needs a last minute science project, that is okay, but not okay for the clutter. We have to let go of the impossible dream that some foods are going to be eaten when they aren’t. If there is something on those shelves that you do decide to keep and it is in a minimal state, make it your mission to use it in the next seven days before purchasing something new.
After 20 minutes, congratulate yourself and plan a time to finish the rest with more 20-minute spurts. Not too shabby!
