A DEBT OF GRATITUDE

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus warns against helping others for attention when He said “Don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” I don’t think Hody Childress’ hands ever met.

Hody was a farmer in Alabama. He passed away on New Year’s Day, and obviously his family is still grieving – but as more people found out in the days to come, they began grieving the loss as well.

In 2012, Hody went in to get a prescription at the pharmacy. That’s when he found out there were a lot of people who couldn’t afford to pay for theirs - so Hody started paying. $100 here. $200 there. Every month - For the last 10 years - And he’d always say the same thing - “Use this for anyone who can’t afford their prescription – and don’t tell anyone. This is a blessing from God.”

Now, after finding out what he had been doing, several others in the town are now seeing to it that this act of kindness keeps going – so they’re ponying up the cash to help their neighbors.  Read more of Hody’s generosity HERE.
