"The Most Wonderful Time of Year"
December is upon us, we have had a little snow here and there, but pretty much a mild early winter so far. We here at The Promise FM enjoyed our Staff Christmas party last Friday, a lovely dinner and get together at The Otsego Club & Resort here in Gaylord. How quickly the weeks go by in December as we have get together's for work, social and family events. Shopping and baking actually need to start well before December if you are organized and want to enjoy your efforts! But, alas most of us don't have time or plan that well to be stress free for Christmas. At this point in my life, I am very content with what I have, and material possessions are not that important. We have 5 children, two are married, and we have two grandchildren. Really what makes the holidays special is all being together, and truly loving on each other.Christmas is about Jesus Christ's birth, his coming to this earth and being born, knowing he was going to die and suffer on the cross, and He still came. He came from Heaven, the glorious beautiful place where God lives, he chose to come. I can't even comprehend it really, when I go through rough and trying times, in the midst I try to pull up my boot straps and say OK, I can do this. I will make it through and try to be a good christian while I go through it, but Jesus chose to face the cross.Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. "Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Please remember to focus on that this December, and try to have a stress free holiday that is focused on love and family, and Jesus. Merry Christmas to all, we here at The Promise FM are gearing up for the Matt Maher Concert this Friday and Saturday in Gaylord and Cadillac, and then we can breath a little and enjoy the the rest of the month. We are so grateful for the amazing response to our first concert event put on totally by ourselves, and we are hoping to do other concerts in the future. We are sold out at both concerts, and we praise God that this will be a very special evening of worship and glory to Jesus Christ. We pray for you and your families this Christmas, we pray you are not lonely or overwhelmed, and we pray that you know Jesus Christ personally as Lord and Savior.
