Rest

Do you ever feel like you are just go-go-go-going? Until, of course, you find yourself hitting a wall. I do that. I will push and push until by the time Saturday rolls around, all I can do is burry my head in a pillow. Truth here-just ask my husband.

So hey, this week-don't stress rest.

Rest is productive. It helps us remember our need and our fragility. A significant need of course, is for that time with God. I often find myself more overextended when I am not spending time with God. My go-go-go-moments can take the blame for that. Have you noticed that too?

Also, heads up your need for rest is not something to be ashamed of. The enemy, the devil, wants us to think that we should be able to do it all, and if we can't, WE are the problem. We are not. The devil is a tyrant. He wants us to burn out with exhaustion while we overfill our lives with all the doing, running, and planning. That way, we miss the time we could use to reflect, release, and respond to God and be in His presence.

Don't stress the rest. Take the time because you need it. If God showed us that He rested on the seventh day of creating this fantastic universe and everything in it, we should take the hint. I know, I know...we aren't creating the universe, I get it, but we also aren't God. We need the rest more, and we need Him more too.

Proverbs 3:24 "If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet."
