Don’t make someone’s bad day about you

And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” - Nehemiah 8:10

I was inspired to share a mental health tip by a post this week for #mentalhealthmonday by Josh Wilson

My tip: Friend, remember where your joy comes from.

When someone around you has a bad day, it can be easy to put that on ourselves. Don't. I share this because I’ve done this. I’ve been bummed out because I sense someone else is angry over something and I figure it must be me (I know…ego much?). That is the voice of the enemy my friend.

Don’t make someone’s bad day about you.

The joy of THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH.

Not the joy of your co-worker, neighbor, customer, or the person in the car next to you. When they lack joy, pray for them but don't let what has nothing to do with you be your burden or your fault.

You are loved.
