Declutter challenge - Day 6

I don’t know how easy today’s Declutter challenge will be for you. It is focusing on our clothing, and I’ll be honest, that freaked me out.

DAY SIX - DECLUTTERING CLOTHES

Here is the guidance from Taryn from Apartment Therapy. As you go through your clothing, spend your time thinking about what you want to live with instead of what you can live without. I love that idea because keeping the progress positive will help us focus on what we are gaining, not losing. Taryn says, start by pulling everything out all at once. That is a lot at one stretch. Consider starting with a drawer at a time. You can work up to emptying a closet or go big with the wardrobe first, but maybe save that for the weekend.

When you empty the drawer or closet, sort everything into categories, like jeans, tops, dresses, skirts, dress slacks. Go through each type and pick three items each and put them away. Keep working through each pile like that. Picking three items and putting them away until your space is filled and not to the brim.

Those extra items can now go into your boxes from day one (Donate or Sell). If you are kind of on the fence with anything, put it in your Maybe box.
