TALENT OF THE PROMISE FM
Mornings with Fred | Weekdays: 6AM – 10AM
Fred brings to The Promise FM 25 years of experience in broadcasting, including nine years with Spirit FM, a network of Christian stations in Missouri, and Arizona Shine, where he was blessed to be part of the team awarded the honor of 2015 NRB Radio Station of the Year. Fred and his wife Julie are parents of three children – Ashleigh, Logan, and Keira. Fred says, “Our kids are all beautiful like their Mom, but they act like their Dad – so pray for my wife, because she has four of ‘me’ running around!”
Mid-days with Brittany | Weekdays: 10AM – 3PM
Born and raised in Michigan, I grew up listening to Christian radio but never imagined I would work in it someday. I became a “temporary Hoosier” while attending college in Indiana, but I missed the beauty and people of Michigan (not to mention the Detroit Tigers!) I was excited to move back to Michigan when given the opportunity. I’ve seen firsthand how God can use music and Christian radio to draw us closer to Himself. It’s a privilege to be part of His work at The Promise FM.
Afternoons with Steve | Weekdays: 3AM – 7PM
I was born near St. Louis, Missouri, and spent most of my growing up years in a little town outside of Scranton, Pa. I welcomed Jesus’ offer of salvation when I was only 5 years old, but didn’t really bow the knee to Him as Lord of my life until adulthood. Now I find every day with Him to be a new adventure! I’ve been married since 1992 and have four sons who keep me humble. I am so grateful that God has blessed me with a fantastic wife, great kids and a job in radio that I love!
Len O’Kelly served as a program director, production director and news director in formats from contemporary Christian to talk to oldies in cities ranging from Chicago, Illinois to Grand Rapids, Michigan to Gisborne, New Zealand. All of that experience has been beneficial to his second career, teaching radio and journalism courses at Grand Valley State University. He serves as the faculty advisor for GVSU’s student radio and television stations, and helps students to find internships and opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the media. Len lives with his wife Mary and a too-large collection of vintage radios.
