Fear? Do Not be overcome with it!
Well, my life has been a series of uncertainty for the last 7 years. My husband lost his job back in 2009, he had that job for 30 years and he excelled at it and we were a successful middle class family living in northern Michigan. With the recession and economic depression, many like us have experienced a “new normal”. We have survived, we have tried opening a new business, we have tried moving out of the state, we have moved back, we have tried new jobs that pay 1/4 of what we used to make. We have had health problems and we have gone without insurance, and we have paid the astronomical fees for the affordable health insurance options we now have. We have sold our home for less than what we paid for it, we have rented and tried to regroup, we have purchased a new home that God led us to. We have been forgotten by friends, we have had new friends come to our aide. We have wondered if God is really out there and hears our prayers? We have been assured through His Word that He loves us so much. We do not understand everything that has happened, and we may never will. We have grown spiritually as individuals and as a family. If ever you think the walls are beginning to close in around you, and it is hard to breath, and get through another day, LOOK UP, set your eyes upon the glorious throne of Jesus Christ. His word is ever true, He never leaves us nor forsakes us, and everything that we go thru is for a purpose and a plan to glorify Jesus Christ in our lives. In Roman’s 12 it says that we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds! How does that happen? How do we go from darkness and hopelessness to light, and joy and hope? By opening the scripture and reading it!! Put the truth in your mind, choose to believe the words you read, and then proclaim with your mouth out loud, the Word Of God!! Listening to music that strengthens and encourages you on The Promise FM also helps, the Holy Spirit works thru music and ministers to your soul.
So as it says in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you, he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I Peter 5:6-7 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you.”
So as I prepare to go into the hospital this week and have a major surgery that will keep me laid up for almost 2 months, am I encouraging you or me? Both!! Amen and Amen, I believe with all my heart, the Lord our God is good, and He has good, good things planned for those who seek His Will. May you be blessed today in Jesus Name and I thank you for your prayers for me.
